New York Times story about HBO series The Alzheimer’s Project

by mymothersbrain

Several friends have sent me information about the HBO series that begins today, as well as the New York Times story published about it.

According to the press release one friend forwarded: “THE ALZHEIMER’S PROJECT is a presentation of HBO Documentary Films and the National Institute on Aging of the National Institutes of
Health in association with the Alzheimer’s Association(r), Fidelity(r)
Charitable Gift Fund and Geoffrey Beene Gives Back(r) Alzheimer’s
Initiative.  The series producer is John Hoffman; the executive
producers are Sheila Nevins and Maria Shriver.”

For those who do not have HBO on your cable service, check HBO.com, as the press release states that it will offer streaming of the full series. Also, check your iTunes as the press release also says that it will offer “an exclusive preview of “The Memory Loss Tapes,” the first of the four feature films, on May 8 with subsequent
films available starting May 11.”

I’ll update you when I find out more. In the meantime, I wish all of you a Happy Mother’s Day, especially those who are caring for mothers who are ill or incapacitated. As for me, I am getting ready to visit my mother-in-law at the dementia residence where she now lives.
